Today is the final day to tour the magnificent 3660 Jackson Street, San Francisco Pacific Heights Decorator Showcase 2014 mansion.
Crafted in 1908 for Alfred and Rose Sutro, designed by the architectural team of Walter Danforth Bliss and William Baker Faville, this stately Classical Revival structure, embraced by climbing figs, sits on a third of an acre overlooking the Presidio and San Francisco Bay.
This extraordinary home was listed for sale in 2013, and quickly Sold for $18,000,000. Dozens of the Bay Area’s top interior and landscape designers have transformed the elegant 9,000 square-foot mansion combining modern touches with an elegant backdrop.

The handsome living room showcases awesome views of the Presidio and Bay over the extraordinary Mediterranean style gardens. Also included are six bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, formal dining room, music room, spacious gourmet kitchen, family room/breakfast room has french doors that open out to a large deck, wine cellar and more.
My favorite room was the noble, paneled Library with a wet bar positioned on the 2nd Floor with expansive views. Designed by Geoffrey De Sousa, Homan Rajai described a fresher concept was implemented to transition into today’s e-book world. Yet, even with the book spines painted white, there is something “magical” about the room. It’s no wonder, apparently Alfred Sutro (1869-1945) had been a great book lover and collector and his main interest was the Book Club of California. Under his leadership while President, this club has become very widely known and an intellectual force, having drawn members from all parts of the country.
